Rohit Shetty SUPPORTS Actors Amid Entourage Cost Debate, Says 'The Price Of Everything Has Gone Up'
The topic of actors' entourage costs has been a longstanding issue in the film industry, with many filmmakers, including Karan Johar and Anurag Kashyap, expressing concerns over the rising expenses. They argue that the increasing costs associated with actors' entourages negatively impact film production and profitability. However, filmmaker Rohit Shetty has recently voiced his support for actors, offering a different perspective on the matter. In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Rohit Shetty addressed the concerns about entourage costs, emphasizing that the rising expenses are not solely due to actors. He explained that the overall cost of production has increased due to higher prices for traveling, ticketing, and hotels. “Not really. With me, it is totally different. When we talk about the cost, it is not just the actors. Everything from travelling to ticketing and hotels, the prices for everything have gone up. It is not just actors. The whole cost has gone up for a lot of things. Keeping that in mind, just because the cast is an ensemble, a lot of money is spent on the cast, it is not like that,” he explained.

Rohit Shetty is currently working on the highly anticipated film Singham Again, which features a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Shetty assured audiences that they can expect plenty of "hand-to-hand combat" in the film, highlighting his preference for real action sequences over VFX. He described himself as "old school" in his approach to action scenes. “I think now everyone is using VFX. It is not just us but all over the world. Most importantly, it is a bit easier and safer. When you are doing hand-to-hand combat, we are trying to be as real as possible. We are old-school guys. For me, hand-to-hand combat will always be real. Even when you see my next venture (Singham Again), hand-to-hand combat is real and yes, there is a lot of CG as well,” he said.

In addition to his work on Singham Again, Rohit Shetty is preparing for the premiere of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, which will stream on Colors TV starting July 27. The show is known for its thrilling stunts and challenges, aligning well with Shetty’s affinity for real action and excitement. His comments and ongoing projects highlight his commitment to maintaining a balance between traditional filmmaking techniques and the modern demands of the industry.
